Eating Gluten-Free Near Spaccanapoli and the Duomo

Exploring Spaccanapoli and the Duomo? Here's where to stop for genuinely safe gluten-free Neapolitan pizza, just a few minutes' walk away.

di EVO50

Naples' historic centre is one of the best places in the world to walk — Spaccanapoli cutting straight through the old town, the Duomo, the churches, the street life. But if you can't eat gluten, finding a safe meal between sights can be stressful. Here's the short version: EVO50 is right in the middle of it, and every pizza we make comes in a gluten-free version prepared with a dedicated process.

A few minutes from the main sights

We are at Calata SS. Cosma e Damiano 22, tucked into the UNESCO-listed old town. On foot you are roughly:

- 5 minutes from the University of Naples Federico II - 6 minutes from Spaccanapoli - 7 minutes from the Duomo of Naples - about 15 minutes from Napoli Centrale station

So you can fold a proper gluten-free dinner into a day of sightseeing without crossing the city.

Genuinely safe, not an afterthought

Plenty of places will tell you they have gluten-free options. What matters for a coeliac guest is how it is made. At EVO50 the gluten-free bases are certified (made by Amonoglù), topped on a separate, dedicated station, and baked alone in the oven on a single-use tray that isolates the dough. On the classic station we even use rice flour instead of wheat flour to limit airborne gluten.

We are honest about the limits, too: we are not AIC-certified and we also serve pizzas with gluten, so for a severe sensitivity it is worth calling ahead at +39 081 377 4751. Since 2019, we have never had an incident.

You can read the full protocol on our gluten-free pizza page.

More than pizza

If you are gluten-free you do not have to stop at the pizza: we bake gluten-free bread in-house for a couple of starters, there is a gluten-free dessert, and even gluten-free craft beer on the list. The whole menu is built so a coeliac and a non-coeliac guest can share the same table.

When to come

We are open Monday to Saturday, 7–11 PM. Booking is not required, but on weekends it helps — it lets us organise the gluten-free station and keep your wait short. Our guests rate us 4.7 out of 5 across nearly a thousand reviews.

Book a table, or just walk in after Spaccanapoli — we will be glad to see you.

Buon appetito — and enjoy Naples.
